§ 8-77. Bonding; authority to require.

Latest version.
  • For certain projects, the town reserves the right to require a bond to be set in an amount established by the fee schedule. The requirement and amount shall be determined by the fire marshal, senior inspector, or zoning official based upon the potential liability for municipal involvement in completion or cleanup or the prospective impact of the project on public facilities or infrastructure. The amount and conditions of such bond shall be addressed on the permit. The conditions addressed must be effected to the satisfaction of the inspections division within 30 days after the certificate of occupancy or expiration of the permit. Failure to meet such conditions within the timeframe specified shall result in forfeiture of the bond. Upon forfeiture, the town shall complete the work conditioned on the permit and the owner or contractor shall be assessed any additional costs exceeding the bond amount.
